The camp store is stocked with a wide variety of Camp Magruder logo T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, mugs, and stuffed animals. There is also a supply of candy bars, jerky, nuts, chips, soda, juice, and other snack items. The camp store will be open when you arrive to drop off your camper and again when you return to pick up your camper.
Deans of some of the camps allow parents to deposit a small amount of money at the registration table when their camper checks-in on opening day. If you choose to do so, your camper will be able to charge small store purchases to this "account" during the week. The camper store accounts must always maintain a positive balance and are settled at the end of each camp. Please stop by the store before leaving to pick-up any remainder of your initial deposit. Remainder amounts left unclaimed are donated to the Camp Magruder Scholarship Fund.
As a convenience, the camp has pre-packaged some popular store items that you may chose to purchase for your camper during check-in. They are:
Magruder Care Pack #1 $40
Contains a backpack, camp t-shirt, hat, 1 snack, 1 drink refill, water bottle OR travel mug, 2 postcards, and a personal note from you.
Magruder Care Pack #2 $40

2010 campers will be invited to “breakthrough” to new ways of seeing people and situations by learning stories of social outcasts and oppressed people whose lives Jesus touched and transformed. Campers and staff will explore what it means to be a good neighbor to all of God’s people.
“Breakthrough” is the ninth title of New Earth: Christian Resources for the Outdoors. This curriculum is developed by the New Earth Publishers, a cooperative group of denominational publishing houses in cooperation with the Committee on Outdoor Ministry (COM) of the National Council of the Churches of Christ.
Camp Magruder is accredited by the American Camp Association and is committed to maintaining a healthy environment where people of all ages can be in Christian community with one another. In response to the recent outbreak of the H1N1 virus, the American Camp Association, in cooperation with the Center for Disease Control, provided guidance to its member camps. Camp Magruder elected to be proactive in preventing the spread of influenza-like illnesses and has adopted a series of protocols to ensure that campers, volunteers, and staff may enjoy a healthy camp experience.
The symptoms of influenza usually include fever plus at least either cough or sore throat. These symptoms are often referred to as an influenza-like illness (ILI). Influenza infection can also lead to additional symptoms like headache, tiredness, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, chills, diarrhea, and vomiting. Novel influenza A (H1N1) is thought to spread in the same way that seasonal influenza viruses spread, mainly through the coughs and sneezes of people who are sick with the virus. People may also become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.
In order to maintain a healthy camp environment, Camp Magruder has implemented the following protocols which may be revised as new recommendations from public health authorities are received:
