Team Building

The Camp Magruder Team Building Program consists of a series of challenges for individuals and groups, requiring problem solving, communication, cooperation, trust, and teamwork for their completion. The challenges draw on the strengths and commitment of each member of the group. Small groups will be challenged to work together and trust one another while overcoming increasingly more difficult obstacles. The team building program is supervised in a safe, challenging and fun manner.

Team Building programs typically utilize group games, initiatives, and the low ropes course. Facilitated discussions apply learning to interactions and relationships of the group, and encourage personal growth. Recommended group size is 5 to 15 people; larger groups may choose to divide into smaller groups with additional facilitators. Groups must schedule their program at least 2 weeks in advance. In groups of participants under 18 years of age, an adult to student ratio of 1:15 is required.

Team building programs help participants to accomplish the following:
  • Experience and growth
  • Learn more about themselves in relation to their own skills, talents, and growth areas
  • Become more confident and trusting of themselves and others
  • Laugh and have fun
  • Leave with a sense of accomplishment, having met goals and expectations

Team Building Basics Package
Ideal for groups looking to build relationships and team dynamics. Participants will communicate and listen to each other and develop a higher level of trust.  Program is 2 hours minimum.  Team building is recommended for middle schoolers and above.

Giant Swing
Bring your team together for a thrilling experience on our Giant Swing. Utilizing a full body harness, several large cables, a helmet, and a big rope, your teammates will pull you up 50 feet in the air. When you let go you will experience a free-fall sensation, along with wind in your hair and views of the ocean. Group members will be encouraged to cheer for their teammates, encourage each other with positive words and just have fun. Participants must be at least 12 years old, and be able to fit securely in the harness. A minimum of 8 people is required in order to pull each participant up the hill.
